Whenever I think of you I cry

Whenever I think of you I cry. I try not to think of you. Forgive me. I’ve started a journal to cope with your passing.

Farewell, for now, my darling Petrovsky

No words can express the deep sorrow I feel from your parting. A part of me has been amputated. I force myself to put on my business face every day – in a way that helps because then I don’t have to think of you and the ways I let you down. I alternate between grief, anger, anxiety and sheer helplessness – and the classic “if onlys”.  If only I was willing to part with more money to send you to the vet clinic every other day. If only I hadn’t relocated you to where I live. If only…In this deep, dark valley, all I want is for you to let me know that you are happy and well wherever you are. All I want is to know you have forgiven me for the choices I made. All I want is to know you love me. I wake up in the mornings with a sense of panic and the dull realization that you are well and truly gone. I’m contemplating grief counselling but right now, I just want to be on my own and pray that you will reach me somehow with a message, and reassure me that we will meet again some day.

I love you Petrovsky.

Venetian smalti terra-cotta candle holders

A clin d’oeil to black and white colonial houses and Malay kuih kuih, three Venetian smalti terra-cotta candle holders, the one stacked on top of the other, were sold to the Altorfer-Ong family.

All proceeds will go to Four Paws at Changi Village.

Another green collaboration with Urban Farm & Barn

Original planter by Uncle Du from Urban Farm & Barn. Ting Ting, the farm’s Co-Founder, proposed plants that would fit the mosaic planter’s look and feel.

The planter will be presented to my friend Rosemary Chng to celebrate the opening of her second retail shop in Singapore.

Peranakan Mosaic Art Tile To Commemorate Renewal Of Wedding Vows

A friend is renewing her marriage vows. I decided to present her with a Peranakan mosaic art tile to commemorate the occasion. Two reclaimed Peranakan tiles were cracked and reconstituted to form this artwork.

At 41

At 41 I defy your unsolicited, tepid assessment of my life. At 41 I refuse to be defined by what I once was but take pride in what I have become. At 41 I forge on defiant and strong. I will not fade into the background and give way to the digital natives. I am a writer, an actress, a mosaic artist, an animal welfare advocate, a gardender and will be many more things as I experiment, make bold choices, love and loathe in equal measure. At 41 I will be fierce and try many new things. At 41 I will chase that elusive pot of gold and don’t you dare stop me. Don’t you dare.

Succulent with lovely pink tint

My “Blue” mosaic planter has gone through many incarnations.  Hopefully it will be a good host to this succulent with a lovely pink tint from Urban Barn & Farm.
